Well Acidising
The acid is pumped into well to clean the scale and /or stimulate the production. Normally, large quantity of high concentration of hydrochloric acid, up to 15% w/w, is utilised. The bottom hole temperature of the production well can be as high as 170oC.
Corrosion Inhibition in Well Acidising
Many nitrogen-containing compounds are effective for hydrochloric acid inhibition. The most common types are alkyl and aryl amine, nitrogen ring compounds etc. Acetylenic alcohol type is often used as additives to improve the efficiency of nitrogen-containing compounds. Some thio compounds also rendered corrosion inhibition capability for hydrochloric acid.
