Corrosion Engineering

In oil and gas production, corrosion engineering is a specific technical solution for tackling corrosion issues, which may include corrosion monitoring, testing and mitigation:

  •  Materials Selection (steels, corrosion resistant alloys, non metallic materials)
  •  Chemical Treatment (corrosion inhibitors, biocides)
  •  Use of Coatings (metallic, non-metallic and organic / paints)
  •  Cathodic Protection (galvanic or impressed current)
  •  Environmental Factor Control (Pressure, temperature, dew point, TEG dehydration etc.)
  •  Design (valve selection, erosive velocity limit etc)
