Point-to-Point Continuity Test Procedure

Point-to-Point Continuity Test Procedure
  • Power off the cathodic protection unit;
  • Connect test leads to voltmeter on 2 volt (or lower) DC range;
  • Place test leads to individual structures
  • Test and record voltages observed
Make the judgement based on the following criteria

V≤ 1 mV, the structures are electrically continuous.
V≥ 10 mV, the structures are electrically isolated.
10> V>1 mV, it is inconclusive and further diagnostic testing is required.
